Martin Luther Giveaway

I know some of you have seen the Facebook posts, Twitter statements, or Pinterest pins about When Lightning Struck!: The Story of Martin Luther, a new book by Danika Cooley. I have learned so much from this book and am thrilled to be a part of this Reformation Day giveaway.

October 31 commemorates what has become known as “Reformation Day.” Martin Luther’s nailing of his ninety-five theses to a church door on October 31, 1517 in Wittenburg, Germany, provoked a debate that resulted in what we now call the Protestant Reformation.

As the “Father of the Reformation”, Martin Luther is a vital figure in Church history. His sacrifice and willingness to wage battle against the spiritual, religious, and political powers of his medieval world allowed Christians throughout time to embrace the truth of salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone as explained by Scripture alone.

Author Danika Cooley has written Luther’s story for young people in her new book, When Lightning Struck!: The Story of Martin Luther, available now for pre-ordering at a reduced price.

Thank you for entering, Karen! You can leave your favorite Martin Luther quote on this blog post. There is a clickable link at the top of the post that says “comments”. If you don’t see it at the top of the post, it may be showing up at the bottom but on my browser, it shows at the top.

My favorite quote is “If you are not allowed to laugh in heaven, I don’t want to go there.” To me, there is such joy in laughter, laughter happens when joy is bubbling up inside you and it is one way to express it, along with tears and music. God is the Creator of all these things and so I think their must be a lot of joy and laughter in heaven. I think that Christ laughed and enjoyed sharing in our laughter while He was with his friends, family and disciples.

Yes! I, too, think of Christ as a joyful man. Just yesterday, one of the giggly girls and I were contemplating some of the things from the Bible that show a sense of humor. I like this quote you shared. Thank you.
