There’s Within My Heart A Melody (He Keeps Me Singing)

Sweetest name I know

This canister just kind of spoke to me when I was at Family Christian the other day and I bought it using a really good coupon. It has brought me smiles each day since then. It has also had me singing this song. J begged to learn it before bed the other night and we have been singing it together. You can hear it at Great Songs Chapel.

He Keeps Me Singing

Words:  L. B. Bridgers (1909)
Music:   L. B. Bridgers (1909)

There’s within my heart a melody
Jesus whispers sweet and low,
Fear not, I am with the, peace be still,
In all of life’s ebb and flow.

Chorus:
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
Sweetest name I know,
Fills my ev’ry longing,
Keeps me singing as I go.

All my life was wrecked by sin and strife,
Discord filled my heart with pain,
Jesus swept across the broken strings,
Stirred the slumb’ring chords again.

Chorus

Feasting on the riches of His grace,
Resting ‘neath His shelt’ring way,
Always looking on His smiling face,
That is why I shout and sing.

Chorus

Though sometimes He leads Through waters deep,
Trials fall across the way,
Though sometimes the path seems rough and steep,
See His footprints all the way.

Chorus

Soon He’s coming back to welcome me
Far beyond the starry sky;
I shall wing my flight to worlds unknown,
I shall live with Him on high.

Chorus

I hope he keeps you singing, too.

At Home.
