We spent some time viewing the path the torch took from Greece to Brazil. We also viewed the ceremony from Greece that took place in mid-July where the torn was lit. (By the way – that was amazing to watch. We did skip a large part of it but look it up on YouTube. Very cool! Especially the science behind the lighting of the torch.) We talked about all the people that participated in the torch passing and what it might mean to them. We viewed a number of videos showing the torch passing from place to place.
After all of that learning, we decided to make an art project. I reminded the girls of the torn paper nutcracker project we did a while back and then let them go to work. Here are their final projects.
At Home.
great project!! I hope you’ll add it to the Virtual Fridge link-up!
That’s a great project, I like it.. .wonder if I could get my lad into trying something like it? 🙂
My girls loved that is was really a very freeing project since there are few to no requirements or instructions. Just make it look like what you want it to.
Great project for littles! I might have to have my 3rd grader try it.
Yes! With no patterns or specifics, you can do this with any image.
