There are times when things move really slowly. And other times, things seem to move faster than the speed of light. Recently, we have been in one of those super-fast times. Lots of things have been happening and while we knew they were going to, they just happened a whole lot faster than we expected. At Home Dad needed shoulder surgery and we expected that. What we didn’t expect was under 3 weeks from the time of mentioning it to our primary care physician to the actual surgery. Fast!
During times of this fast moving life, we have to hold onto something. Something of importance. Something of strength. Something that can get us through when the world seems to be spinning. God is that Something. God is in control so while things seem to move super-fast to me, God has had this in his hand the whole time. God’s hand is unchanging and he will provide the strength we need through the sleepless days and night of recover and rehab ahead. God’s hand will provide the care to handle the pain and the worry that goes along with these things. But, most importantly, God’s hand is unchanging and will guide us through whatever he places in our paths until at last he brings us to heaven to live with him for eternity.
Hold to God’s unchanging hand. It is all you need to make it through.
At Home.
Hold To God’s Unchanging Hand
lyrics: Jennie Wilson (1904)
music: F. L. Eiland (1904)
1 Time is filled with swift transition,
Naught of earth unmoved can stand,
Build your hopes on things eternal,
Hold to God’s unchanging hand.
Refrain:
Hold to God’s unchanging hand,
Hold to God’s unchanging hand;
Build your hopes on things eternal,
Hold to God’s unchanging hand.
2 Trust in Him who will not leave you,
Whatsoever years may bring,
If by earthly friends forsaken
Still more closely to Him cling. [Refrain]
3 Covet not this world’s vain riches
That so rapidly decay,
Seek to gain the heav’nly treasures,
They will never pass away. [Refrain]
4 When your journey is completed,
If to God you have been true,
Fair and bright the home in glory
Your enraptured soul will view. [Refrain]

ah yes, God’s unchanging hand…holds us tight doesn’t he? Another new one for me. 🙂
🙂 God’s hand is often that unseen thing that supports us when we know not what is going on.
