We have been having a series at our church building focusing on Family Matters. It has been really, really good. Much encouragement but even more life changing, pride changing, salvation changing. We are contending for our children, our grandchildren, our great-grandchild. We need to intentionally lead them in truth. One of the themes that Mr. Minor mentioned over and over had to do with fixing our eyes on Jesus. Never losing that focus, that frame of mind, that purpose. This song has been stuck in my head most of the time because of his lessons.
The tech guys at church are hoping to get Mr. Minor’s lessons uploaded to the church website. When that gets done, I will share those lessons with you. They are worth more than the time it will take to listen to them. In the meantime, let me encourage you to Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, contend earnestly for your children, and be intentional about what you are doing in every aspect of your life. The reward is greater than anything we can receive on the earth and once Jesus comes, we don’t have another chance. Since we don’t know when that will happen, shouldn’t we be intentional and earnest with our children NOW?
May you Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.
At Home.
Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
words and music: Helen H. Lemmel (1922)
1. O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!
Refrain:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
2. Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
O’er us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conqu’rors we are! Refrain
3. His Word shall not fail you—He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell! Refrain

I should make us do a hymn study. So inspiring!
