Hallelujah, Praise Jehovah ~ hymn

Hallelujah Praise Jehovah

I read Psalm 148 yesterday morning. It was beautiful.

1Praise the Lord.a

Praise the Lord from the heavens;

praise him in the heights above.

2Praise him, all his angels;

praise him, all his heavenly hosts.

3Praise him, sun and moon;

praise him, all you shining stars.

4Praise him, you highest heavens

and you waters above the skies.

5Let them praise the name of the Lord,

for at his command they were created,

6and he established them for ever and ever—

he issued a decree that will never pass away.

7Praise the Lord from the earth,

you great sea creatures and all ocean depths,

8lightning and hail, snow and clouds,

stormy winds that do his bidding,

9you mountains and all hills,

fruit trees and all cedars,

10wild animals and all cattle,

small creatures and flying birds,

11kings of the earth and all nations,

you princes and all rulers on earth,

12young men and women,

old men and children.

13Let them praise the name of the Lord,

for his name alone is exalted;

his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.

14And he has raised up for his people a horn,b

the praise of all his faithful servants,

of Israel, the people close to his heart.

Praise the Lord.

(from Bible Hub . com)

And, of course it put today’s hymn into my head. I have enjoyed humming it over and over but decided that meant I needed to share it with you. So, enjoy this singing of it.

You can also hear it sung at Great Songs Chapel or at In Search of the Lord’s Way.

Whatever song you are singing today, sing it to God’s glory and I’ll chat with you another time.

Blessings,
At Home.

Hallelujah, Praise Jehovah

words: Psalm 148 (arranged William J Kirkpatrick 1893)
music: William J Kirkpatrick (1893)

1 Hallelujah, praise Jehovah,
from the heavens praise his name;
praise Jehovah in the highest,
all his angels, praise proclaim.
All his hosts, together praise him,
sun and moon and stars on high;
praise him, O ye heavens of heavens,
and you floods above the sky.

Refrain:
Let them praises give Jehovah,
for his name alone is high,
and his glory is exalted,
and his glory is exalted,
and his glory is exalted,
far above the earth and sky.

2 Let them praises give Jehovah,
they were made at his command;
them forever he established,
his decree shall ever stand.
From the earth, O praise Jehovah,
all you seas, you monsters all,
fire and hail and snow and vapors,
stormy winds that hear his call. [Refrain]

3 All you fruitful trees and cedars,
all you hills and mountains high;
creeping things and beasts and cattle,
birds that in the heavens fly,
kings of earth, and all you people,
princes great, earth’s judges all;
praise his name, young men and maidens,
aged men, and children small. [Refrain]

      This is just such a cheerful song that I end up humming, whistling, or singing it often. Thanks for taking time to comment.
