Breathe On Me, Breath of God is another hymn that I don’t remember from long ago, though it was written quite a long time ago. It has a flowing melody that moves easily and allows the thoughts to move gently, giving the singer time to really consider what is being sung. This is a gentle prayer to God, asking Him to fill the singer – with love, with purity, with a moldable will, with endurance, and finally, eternal life.
Blessings,
Lori, At Home.

Breathe On Me, Breath of God
lyrics: Edwin Hatch (1878)
music: Charles Lockhart (1878)
1 Breathe on me, Breath of God,
fill me with life anew,
that I may love the way you love,
and do what you would do.
2 Breathe on me, Breath of God,
until my heart is pure,
until my will is one with yours,
to do and to endure.
3 Breathe on me, Breath of God,
so shall I never die,
but live with you the perfect life
for all eternity.
