All Hail The Power of Jesus’ Name ~ hymn

All Hail The Power of Jesus' Name

Hymns that proclaim Jesus and His majesty are some of my favorites. Maybe that is why this is one that will run through my head often. It doesn’t take much for this hymn to be called up and me to start humming it.

The lyrics of this hymn call to mind power, majesty, royalty, salvation, and eternal life in heaven for those who have followed the Bible. God has called His people to follow Him, to do what He gave us to do, to serve Him, and to praise Him. In doing so, we are examples proclaiming Jesus’ name to the world around us.

As you walk through each day this week, in a week where many will proclaim freedom in the US, stand tall and proclaim freedom through Christ. That is where our real freedom is found – freedom from the things of this world, freedom from worry, freedom from sin and the condemnation it brings. All Hail The Power of Jesus’ Name – no other name causes trembling in those who are not in His church, following His will and way.

All Hail The Power of Jesus’ Name – stand up and proclaim your freedom in Jesus’ Name.

And have a lovely 4th of July.

Blessings,
Lori, At Home.

You can listen to it being sung by visiting In Search of the Lord’s Way. It is listed in the A’s and the melody I know is the one that has (Coronation) beside it. Just click the arrow to the left to listen to this hymn.

All Hail The Power of Jesus’ Name

lyrics: Edward Peronet (1799)
music: Oliver Holden (1793)

All hail the power of Jesus’ name!
Let angels prostrate fall;
bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown Him Lord of all.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown Him Lord of all.

Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race,
ye ransomed from the Fall,
hail Him who saves you by His grace,
and crown Him Lord of all.
Hail Him who saves you by His grace,
and crown Him Lord of all.

Let every kindred, every tribe
on this terrestrial ball,
to Him all majesty ascribe,
and crown Him Lord of all.
To Him all majesty ascribe,
and crown Him Lord of all.

O that with yonder sacred throng
we at His feet may fall!
We’ll join the everlasting song,
and crown Him Lord of all.
We’ll join the everlasting song,
and crown Him Lord of all.

I sang this song at full volume on the way down to Michigan yesterday! 🙂 Good thing the boys weren’t with me.
