Faith Is The Victory – hymn

Faith is the victory! Faith is the victory! Oh, glorious victory that overcomes the world.

We are hearing a lot of “faith over fear” type of talk right now. But it shouldn’t be just right now that faith is part of the discussion. Faith is what overcomes the world and has been since, well, the beginning of it all – time, creation, the world, sin, and death. May today find you growing in faith when everything else is harder to find.

You can listen to this song on In Search of the Lord’s Way (click through and then find it by title alphabetically – good recording that I enjoy listening to). Or by watching the video below with the words and music.

Faith Is The Victory

words: John H Yates (1891)
music: Ira D Sankey (1891)

1 Encamped along the hill of light
Ye Christian soldiers, rise;
And press the battle ere the night
Shall veil the glowing skies.
Against the foe in vales below
Let all our strength be hurled;
Faith is the victory, we know,
That overcomes the world.

Faith is the victory!
Faith is the victory!
Oh glorious victory that overcomes the world.

2 His banner over us is love,
Our sword the Word of God;
We tread the road the saints above
With shouts of triumph trod.
By faith, they like a whirlwind’s breath
Swept on o’re every field;
The faith by which they conquered death
Is still our shining shield. Refrain

3 To him that overcomes the foe
White raiment shall be given;
Before the angels he shall know
His name confessed in heaven;
Then onward from the hills of light,
Our hearts with love aflame;
We’ll vanquish all the hosts of night
In Jesus’ conquering name. Refrain

Lori, At Home.
