Our area has been blessed with lots of rain this spring and early summer. Just this evening we had about 4 inches in an hour. This is not unusual for this year. Another day we had 6 inches; one day we had 4 inches. We have had many periods of fairly heavy rain storms. But, something we have not had yet, until Saturday, was a gentle warm rain that was good for playing in.
Yes – I am the mother that lets her kids run barefoot in the water running down the sides of the street, getting wet and having a blast. Saturday, they were finally able to do that. They played outside in the rain for an hour or so, having the best time. The giggly girls love to play in the rain like this.
J, the youngest giggly girl, took some time to study the plants and flowers, noticing how beautiful the raindrops looked on the flowers and leaves. We also noticed a spider web. I don’t know what kind of spider it is but we are calling it a zipper spider because its web looks zipped together.
In The Rain – such a fun place to be. There is so much to feel and see and observe. God’s creation and power is so beautiful and we can see it clearly in the rain. Here’s hoping we’ll have some more times where they can play In The Rain. At Home.

I love the photos of your girls having so much fun! When they’re grown, I think they’ll fondly remember that their mom let them play in the rain.
Thank you. I truly hope so.
It rains so much here, it’s just dreary. Perhaps the next rainy day this week we’ll all purposefully go out and puddle jump!
I hope you do. It always lifts dreary spirits to go out and be active. 🙂
How fun to play in the rain. I love those photos of the flowers. Beautiful!

Thank you! I am still working on figuring out how to take good pictures and I was pretty pleased with these.
We love the rain! And when there’s no rain, we create it with the sprinkler! 🙂
We enjoy sprinklers, too. When it gets hot, that is all we can do sometimes!

They grow out of this all too fast! My boys used to do this all the time. Such joyful play. I love the pictures, and that your girl stopped to look at the flowers even in the rain.
These are some of my favorite pictures from the past. I love the flower one, too.
